Dr. Piccolo completed his undergraduate education with honors at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, and received his Doctorate in Medicine from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic/Green Hospital in San Diego, California, followed by another residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University in New York.
Dr. Piccolo is one of a select group of physicians to be triple board certified with the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Internal Medicine, and holds certifications in Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine and subspecialty certification in Pain Management. He is licensed to practice medicine in the states of New York and California.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Piccolo has completed research and numerous professional presentations pertaining to the field of Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He has also participated in several educational seminars and training programs across the country to learn the most current treatments and interventions in the management of chronic pain. He has volunteered his time to provide free medical care to the uninsured and has acted as an Anesthesia consultant to Team Rubicon, an organization which provides emergency disaster relief and medical care to the most remote regions of the world.
Dr. Piccolo is currently a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management, the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
